Trip to Lalitha Hospital

19 Sep 2026 - fubar - Sreekar Guddeti

A new experience that I had when I had to visit Lalitha Hospital Guntur under critical circumstances.

Industrial visit to quantum computer

This day is a special day for me as it was the first time i arranged an industrial visit for my students to the quantum computer installed at Medha Towers, Gannavaram by Qubitech an Qubitforce.

The arrangement was for my 3rd year 1st semester students of Minor technology course “Quantum Technology - Computing Theory and Practices” and 2nd year 1st semester students of regular couse “Physics for Quantum Computing”.

The path to the go-ahead step was a bit circuitous. Firstly, my students were excited to visit the quantum computer and their FA2 s have recently been completely. So, they were relatively free. As a result, I expressed to my HoD, Physics, on 11th of September, of the interest of my students. She gave the number of Pruthvi, Qubitech. Prudhvi asked to contact Dr. Krishna Mohan, scientist at Qubitech.

I message Dr. Krishna, and he agreed to have a chat in the lunch time of 12th of September (Saturday). However due to the impending duties, I lost track of the call back. Also, I had to mentally prepare myself for my trip to Bengaluru for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations - Ganesh Chaturthi is scheduled on 14th of September (Monday). So I requested him to catch up after Ganesh Chaturthi. Dr. Krishna agreed.

# Trip to Bengaluru

Now that I am in full mood to visit Bengaluru to meet Sunanda, I boarded bus to Bengaluru at NTR Bus stand Guntur. I reached Bengaluru the morning of next day. The weather at Bengaluru was very pleasant unlike that in Guntur.

The celebration at Bengaluru was at grandiose scale. I wanted to gift a book to Daakshaayani mam, psychologist as she was relieving from the campus and heading to Visakhapatnam campus. I also had intenttion to read Shiva Samhita as Suman ji keeps mentioning about it in the yoga class. I tried to search at Rainbow Book Stall at Malleswaram, Sampige Road, but it was closed. However, after some enquiries at road side Nth hand book shops, I could zero-in on Vedanta Book House, near Post office, Malleswaram.

I could not find Shiva Samhita there. However, I could find Ashtavakra Samhita there. I bought this for Daakshaayani Mam. For myself, I bought Thirukkural’s couplet compilation and Uddhava Gita, authored by a Ramakrishna monk.

Next I headed to Van Heusen, and bought myself a black Durapress formal shirt. The durapress technology is purported to be developed by NASA and has wrinkle resistance feature.

Then I wanted to meet Veeresh as in the morning session, our paths converged and he showered praise about me that i have changed a lot. I have become a man out of a boy. and even my voice has improved. I felt good about myself. I wanted to talk to him more, but he was with a girl. So i was feeling shy and told him i will meet him in person. But he was not reachable.

Then i headed to the room. and was waiting for Sunanda. However, she did not even message until 8 pm. So i was feeling low and decided to go Gilly’s to relax. However, to my surprise, Gilly’s shutdown and I had to explore 1522. There I ordered Hoegaarden beer pint. I promised myself and to Kenny mam that i will cease drinking. ut i was not able to handle the situation. I had a sip. Then suddenly, Sunanda messaged me. So i decided to stop drinking and coincidentally, I had the yoga class to attend that i had forgotten about. So i practiced inside the bar. But i realized it would be late to reach the hotel. So i stopped in between the class, and headed to the hotel.

I reached the hotel and was so tired that I dozed off.

Back to campus

I reached campus on the morning of 15th of September (Tuesday). I had forgo thumb biometric sign in as i was delayed by an hour. The activity at the campus was dim as students were still in Ganesh Chaturthi mode and the attendance was feeble.

Planning for the industrial visit

I resumed the planning to the industrial visit again on 16th of September (Wednesday) by connecting to Krishna Mohan. On the call, he suggested the industrial visits are planned on the third and fourth Saturdays and thereby suggested two dates – 19th of September and 31st of October.

Though I had only three days for planning the visit on 19th of September, I took the risk of opting it since the students are relatively free on this day. In the end week of October, they might be engaged in end-of-semester assessment planning.

Dr. Krishna suggested to send mails to prudhvi[at]qubitech.io Venkat[at]qbitforcequantum.com md.apsqm[at]ap.gov.in Krishna.mohan[at]qubitech.io

for approval of the industrial visit.

However, there is no sign of approval or otherwise on the 17th of September. I was bit anxious. After talking to Dr. Krishna, he assured he will give the verdict on 18th. I waited.

Luckily, the leadership approved the visit on 18th morning. So i had to expedite the things on my side. The important aspect was to arrange transportation facility for the students.

I had written a letter addressing the Registrar through the HoD, Physics requesting for transportation facility. Thanks to the cooperation of my HoD, we could procure the transportation facility.

Industrial visit

On the 19th of September, at 0830 am, we headed to Medha towers. 7 students from third year and 17 students from second year turned up. The rest who agreed for the visit but did not turn up were dropped. We started around 0845 am and reached around 1020 am.

At the Medha towers, we are welcomed by the Qubitech team that comprised of –

After having later lunch arond 1300 hrs, we headed to the campus at 1400 hrs. We reached the campus at around 1540 hrs. We dispersed at the library. I reported to my HoD, and she was happy for the successful execution from the physics department side.

Back to room

I was a bit exhausted and headed to home for relaxation. However, after reaching home, I realized I need to prepare for the upcoming yoga session. So after some relaxation, I headed to Tenali.

Yoga class

I was heading to Tenali to buy foldable mosquito net for my yoga practice after my duties at Vignan. The signal in room is poor so I decided to practice on the roof top. However, due to the incumbent rainy season, there is a huge influx of mosquitoes. Therefore, I am not able to focus during the practice. So I decided to buy a foldable mosquito net.

When I went to Tenali, I am not able to figure out where I can buy the net from. I decided to first have dosa at Jahnavi’s tiffin point, and ask some local during the food for some pointers. However, coincidentally, I happened to meet Dr. Raju, my colleague from Civil department. We had a small banter related to his Jeep and his “Dhurandhar” driving skills. He offered me to explore the mosquito net buying task together. After enquiring at a smuggled goods store, which has no name, but the landmark is the alley opposite Shubham Cloth store, we went to bed selling outlet. Luckily, they had the net. After bargaining by Dr. Raju, we fixed on price of 700/- and then he offered me to drop at Jahnavi. He was under the impression that I am from Kerala. However, I corrected him that I am pure Telugu. Later, our paths diverged and I had tiffin at Jahnavi’s.

After food, it was already 8 pm and I had to attend yoga class at 9 pm. I needed a bulb or tubelight setup also on the roof but it was late enough. So i decided to go forgo and execute it in the next iteration. Since the roof-top setup was not complete, I decided to head to my cabin at the campus. But before that, I bought some fruits as it was festival season. I decided to hire Rapido but was unable to convince the rider to come to Vignan. Finally, I booked an auto in service mode and dashed to Vignan.

I was late by few minutes, but joined the class.

The class was about Pratyahara.

Emergency situation

After the class, I headed to home on foot. At the Vadlamudi cross roads, Shiva koteswara, an army man from Selapadu, offered me a lift. He was very fit and youthful even at the age of 40 years. His designation was naik subedar. I asked him the eligibilty rules of territorial army. He cautioned me that the physical fitness rules are same as regular army. So the physical fitness that is developed during pre-university is maintained.

Once I reached home, I noticed that landlord had been discharged. He was sent with continuous oxygen support. The respirator was a Phillips make and its task is to concentrate oxygen from the air and send with positive pressure. However, the landlord was not comfortable. The local doctor, who visited the landlord, noticed the Sp O2 – peripheral saturation oxygen – to be 48. It was very less. During Corona, Sp O2 below 90 was considered dangerous.

We made a decision to shift him to Lalitha PVS Hospital at Guntur in the midnight. The ambulance was called. This was the first time I boarded an ambulance. The driver was very dynamic guy. He was cruising at more than 105 kmph. We reached the emergency ward of the hospital, where the landlord was subjected to myriad sensors. The sensors included –

The parameters in the emergency ward stabilized. Later, he was shifted to the stroke ICU ward.

I was very tired due to the hectic day so I slept for sometime. The landlady was very worried and decided to be awake and slept intermittently on the chair. In the morning, I had some tea and enquired about the health of the landlord. He was supposedly stable.

For some reason, I found the life to be fleeting with no serious purpose. Nevertheless, instead of being unattached, I decided to be proactive and take charge in my hands and do whatever is possible from my side.

I had the opportunity to take care of my land lady and interact with hospital staff and requesting them to cooperate with us and tell us what is the reason for the sudden deterioration of the landlord’s health.
